Some of the local churches in Lynn are getting together to set up a foodbank – the idea is this. Frequently families come on a very hard time – through a job loss, benefit change or a crisis and run out of money to buy food. Foodbanks are a Kingdom project to provide emergency food parcels to people and families referred by other agencies. At the same time we get to share the love of God and sometimes the Gospel too! The apostolic command to Paul was “remember the poor!” the very thing he wanted to do. Jesus also taught that when we feed the poor we are blessing Him too “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me…” Matthew 25:35-36

This Sunday, we are taking up an offering to help with the start up costs of this excellent project.

At the same time we would also like to bless the Newfrontiers Church in Gdansk. Kev & Em Reilly moved over a couple of years ago to plant a church in Gdansk – we often pray for them in our prayer meetings, our kids work will be writing to their girls soon and we want to bless them financially!
