Exodus 11-12

The Passover Lamb points to Jesus

Passover Lamb Jesus
Without defect Sinless
Blood Shed Blood Shed on the cross
Saved by blood applied to the doorway Saved by believing in Jesus’ death and resurrection (blood shed for us)

Luke 14-16

Humble people get exalted
People make excuses not to respond, so go and find some others
Being a disciple is costly
3 parables show that lost people matter to God – the lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son.

Job 29-31

Job long for the days when he had intimate fellowship with God and was esteemed in the community
Ch 30 that’s not where he is at now!
ch31 I have made a covenant with my eyes not look at a woman lustfully – good plan!

1 Cor 15-16

What is of first importance? -Jesus died for our sin, was buried and rose again.
If there is no resurrection we are fools to be pitied more than all men.

2nd coming – rapture is not secret – trumpets sounding, dead raised, no more death

Ch 16 – set aside money you will give

End advice – be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be men of courage, do everything in love

2 Cor 1

God is a God of comfort, who comforts us, so we can comfort others.
The baptism in the spirit means we are anointed, sealed and have the Spirit as a deposit guaranteeing the inheritance to come.
