Religion isn’t much fun- “a sad and miserable affair” as Michael Green puts it. The kingdom is different – full of blessing! Bless = made happy by God! Life in the kingdom is full of joy, that no person or circumstance can take away.

Jesus prescription for a happy in God life is for the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those that hunger fro righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers and the persecuted.

What’s our influence to be? As salt and light. Salt preserves and adds flavour; light is above all visible! Jesus doesn’t want secret discipleship.
