Cathy & Paul with Andy & JanetIMG_7261Cathy and Matt

We had a great weekend hosting Cathy Burton on her MAF tour. MAF is a Christian charity that uses light aircraft so that 1500 relief and mission groups can bring humanitarian aid, community development, hope and healing to isolated communities. Cathy’s husband Paul, who I have known seen we were teenagers, is training to be a pilot so they can join the MAF team.

Cathy Burton and bass player Matt Weeks did a fantastic set of songs from her latest album Searchlight. She sung and spoke about God’s hand in the various seasons of life – including healing from anorexia, having children and being inspired by suffering. We also got to hear a “Trance” song (it’s a type of dance music!), put to some amazing MAF flying. Kevin Crook spoke on the work of MAF, bringing hope, supplies, medevac and mission support flights. He encouraged us to sign up for their newsletter – please do sign up!
