Boom
It was great to be with The Bridge Church in St Ives yesterday. I went to lay hands on Conrad Roper for eldership and to speak at their morning meeting. They now have a great team of 3 elders in place in their brand new building. I realised I have been in King’s Lynn longer than I was leading that Church. I only recognised about half the people there, which is such an encouragement!
One of the things that excited me most was the “bucket of love”. At one of their prayer meetings they wrote down names of people they are praying for to become Christians and put them in a bucket. Now each week it is at the front of the Sunday gathering and names are added and prayed for every week in their prayer gathering. They took 3 out that were baptised the week before!
I picked it up and remarked how heavy it was towards the end of the sermon – Andy Richards asked me to tip it up and a deluge of names cascaded out on to the floor. 400 names! At the end we played 400 card pickup – praying again for every person as they were put back in the bucket – hence the photo!
It’s a perfect example of what we do in Relational Mission…

Everyone a witness – mobilising everyone to be a witness. Identifying the people the Holy Spirit wants you to pray for is a fantastic start. It puts them on your heart
Enough – corporate prayer changes things 1 Cor 1:11 “As you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on your behalf for the gracious favour granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”
