Pioneers weekend
First Phase Church Planters Weekend
Last weekend, I was in Southern Germany helping on a training weekend for first phase church planters. It was great to be with 35 people from the UK, Germany and the Netherlands who are all about to go church planting or are in the first phase of gathering and getting ready to launch on Sundays.
Maurice Nightingale taught on values based church planting – each church may have a different style of how they do things, but we carry the same DNA of values, the things we hold dear. Hugh Pearce from Colchester taught on how to gather, Phil Whittal from Stockholm on vision. I took a session on how to launch well and then Rob & Liz Glover did two sessions on team personality profiles (can you believe I come out as an extrovert/feeler!) and being a family on a mission. Mark Andrews taught on how to do a SWOT analysis. In the evening I lead a prayer and ministry time to bring a sense of impartation and freedom to live in the good of what we had learnt – I love doing those!
It was such a blessing to help planters get ready. I also loved meeting Nathan and Rada Adams who are planting in Munich and will be launching early next year. They a looking to plant a multi-cultural church called The Gateway! We’ll be organising a Gateway Church trip to help them make a big noise in the city during the February 2019 half term, just before their Sunday launch – more on that soon. Hope many of us can go on that trip. It would be great to take loads of us to help them for a weekend.
Lastly one of the “hardest” things about these trips is that you have to eat whatever is put before you… 😉
