The other week Kees challenged us to not just be hearers of the word, but doers. That’s from James 1:22. It is so easy to just listen to a Sunday message, enjoy it and then promptly get on with life as normal. I know, I’ve done it!

So this afternoon four of us (Mike Ikwuagwu, Amie Lymer, Rebecca Clayton and I) went out on the streets to engage people in conversation and pray for people. Safe to say for 3 of us this was stepping out of the comfort zone!

It wasn’t easy, having the nerve to go up to people and talk about Jesus took a bit of time – we all did it. We used various approaches –

  • “Can I ask you a question about God?”
  • If God could do a miracle for you today what would it be?
  • Have you heard the good news?

I got to share the gospel with a couple of teenagers, others had words of knowledge and prayed for healing and we had fun and stretched our faith muscles a little.

If you are around on a Tuesday afternoon 2:30pm why not join us for an hour?
