As well as our New Testament readings, I read some of the Old Testament and Psalms/Proverbs to go through the Bible in a Year.

Soul rest

In the midst of everything going on in our lives – even fears and anxieties, our souls have rest in God. In verse 5 David talks to himself (which is better than listening to the rubbish our mind often speaks!) He says Yes, my soul, find rest in God! He is commanding his soul to be in the rest God gives. Peace!

Salvation

Salvation comes from the Lord – he is our rock and our salvation.

Security

When everything else in life can be shaken, our security in God – He is our rock and our fortress.
