Recently I have been working with Tomas & Nelleke Kikkert who are planting in the Zeeland area of the Netherlands.
I’ve been Zooming them on a monthly basis to encourage and help them shape what they are doing. Last month we talked about making their initial Sunday gathering easier to do, so they can focus on gathering more than preparation. I shared the Discovery Bible Study method with them – this where you take a Bible passage – first telling and retelling the story and then asking six questions of the text together. What does it say about God? about people? Is there a sin to avoid? A promise to grab hold of? An example to follow? A command to obey. It takes little preparation, so planters can spend the time they do have on praying and gathering new people in.
They took hold of the simple concept with relish – and the kids retold the story with PlayMobil characters.
I’ll be visiting for their Zeeland day early April and looking forward to spend some great time with the wonderful Tomas and Nelleke and this wonderful church plant.
