Today’s iCaf
Today’s iCaf was such a joy! We welcomed new refugees and a returning one who gave me some Ukrainian sweets. One of the husbands was over for a visit – the condition of which is returning with medical supplies (so after the iCaf I ended up ordering 42 combat tourniquets to save lives as a result of major trauma).
It was lovely that some had remembered from the previous week’s lesson that it was Doreen’s birthday during the week, so they honoured her in song and with a card and present!
Then lots of apples and cake and an English lesson. I started out recaping vocabulary and dialogue for dates and family trees using the Royal family, as we remembered the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We then went off on a tangent about the ettiquette of queueing and dialogue practice for joining a queue! And then finally we covered animal names and the noises they make! How we went off on those tangents is a mystery but there was much laughter!
