Ordinary Christians shaking the world
Ordinary Christians shaking the world
It is the soup-line worker Stephen who, humbly filled with the Spirit and wisdom, has shaken Jerusalem to the core, been tried by the Sanhedrin and now rejected and murdered just like his precious Saviour.
As we move into part two, we are going to see many ordinary people, in love with Jesus, shake the world as they get scattered.
We will see the ordinary deacon Philip bring revival to Samaria and spread the gospel to Africa through the Ethiopian Eunuch, because he knows Jesus and follows the promptings of the Spirit.
We will see the ordinary Christian Ananias lead Saul the arch-enemy of Christianity to the Lord, because he had the courage to follow a prompting of the Spirit in a vision.
We will see the ordinary Christian Dorcas who is so good at serving the poor in Joppa, that Peter raises her from the dead so she can carry on.
Most of the scattered stay anonymous, but they go to Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth proclaiming Jesus.
Why did the apostles stay in Jerusalem? They had been the main targets of persecution before and yet they aren’t scattered. Perhaps they were staying to make a courageous last stand or hold the fort or to join Stephen in heroic martyrdom. We will see some of them again later.
Do you long to see the kingdom of God come in King’s Lynn, in West Norfolk and further afield? If you are a church member, don’t leave it to the leaders! If you are leader don’t leave it to the members!
Be filled with the Spirit and tell and demonstrate to people what He has done wherever you go.
