Today, we start going through 1 Samuel together. This Old Testament book is the story of the last and most consistent judge, Samuel as he grew to be a prophet and King maker. Some of the passages contain events that make you wonder what the message is! Mary J Evans in the the Bible Speaks Today Commentary writes’ The readers are being told in effect, “You’ve read the Law, you’ve heard the prophets, you know how God is and what it means to relate to him, so what do you make of this? Don’t just read this story, get inside it, interact with it in the light of what you already know about God and his purposes.’
