Starting well to finish well

4th Jan, 2019 Day 4

Matt 4:1-22

Jesus is the perfect character we can have to measure our lives against.

He is the bench mark for you and me to make things right in our own lives.

If we quickly run through this passage in reverse we will see…

JESUS started demonstrating the power of GOD through His mission of preaching the gospel of the Kingdom. To do this He needed the right kind of people in His mission. He met them only because He chose the path to travel according to will of GOD. Before making any move He went fasting and praying – to be fully equipped for what GOD was going to do through Him.

We need to look at two important aspects. First, the Spirit of GOD led Him to wait on GOD and be strengthened for the mission. Second, the Word of GOD – JESUS – overcame every temptation because He fought His battle using the Sword of Spirit that is the word of GOD.

JESUS started well to finish well. With a powerful punch!

What did He actually do?

He waited on the LORD! Patiently. He waited enough to be fully equipped. Then He followed the right directions to be at the right place at the right time. He chose a team to complete the mission, not alone but with disciples. Then He made a move to preach the gospel and demonstrate the power of GOD through healing and deliverance.

Wherever we are – we may be experiencing failure, going through a dry season, maybe we see all roads blocked ahead or a heavy downfall – there cannot be anything better than waiting on GOD to gain strength, knowledge and wisdom. Fight every battle with the help of His Spirit and the Word of GOD in whom the great treasure is hidden.
